چکیده
We reviewed five studies that relied on the same methodologies to determine the prevalence ofPhonological, Surface and Double-Deficit-Subtypes in developmental dyslexia. The proportion ofthese subtypes was found to vary according to the method (classical method or regressionmethod), the measure (accuracy or processing time), the dyslexics’ language (English or French)and their chronological age. Only two results appeared consistently across the studies. First, withthe classical method, and as compared to chronological age controls, most of the dyslexicsappeared to suffer from a double deficit. Second, with the regression method, and as compared toreading level controls, the surface profile, though not the phonological profile, almostdisappeared, thus suggesting that only the latter corresponds to a developmental deviance. Inaddition, in the sole study in which both accuracy and processing time were taken into account,in the comparison with reading level controls, only the phonological skills of both thephonological and the surface dyslexics were found to be impaired, either in accuracy or inReliability of Phonological and Surface Subtypes in Developmental Dyslexia: A... Noise Model of a Reverse-biased Cold-fet Applied to the Characterization of Its Enr
This paper presents a broadband-noise circuit model for a “cold”-FET (Vds 0 V) with a reverse-biased gate. The noise model includes two intrinsic uncorrelated noise-current sources whose spectral densities are determined from measurement of the device’s S parameters and noise powers. The model is used to characterize the device’s excess Figure 3 Radiation patterns in the (a) x–z and (b) y–z pla...

Recent models of dyslexia emphasise the difficulties for these children in processing rapid, complex auditory stimuli. We investigated concurrent sound segregation in dyslexic and non-dyslexic children, using behavioural and event-related potential (ERP) methods. Twenty-twochildren (8-12yrs) were studied; half of the participants had phonological dyslexia. Five loudness-matched c...
متن کاملTunable coupling of superconducting qubits.
We study an LC circuit implemented using a current-biased Josephson junction (CBJJ) as a tunable coupler for superconducting qubits. By modulating the bias current, the junction can be tuned in and out of resonance and entangled with the qubits coupled to it. One can thus implement two-qubit operations by mediating entanglement. We consider the examples of CBJJ and charge-phase qubits. A simple...

Aims The current study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of psychological interventions (mental-educational) on the quality of sleep among patients with chronic diseases in Iran during 2003-2021. Methods & Materials The current study is a meta-analysis in terms of purpose. The population included all master’s and PhD. dissertations and theses, studies published in scientific journ...
متن کاملGroups perform better than the best individuals on letters-to-numbers problems: informative equations and effective strategies.
One-hundred 3-person groups and 300 individuals solved 2 letters-to-numbers problems, requiring identification of the coding of 10 letters to 10 numbers by proposing an equation in letters, receiving the answer in letters, proposing a hypothesis, and receiving feedback on the hypothesis on each trial. There were 5 instruction conditions: (a). standard, (b). use at least 3 letters on all equatio...
